Care & Handling

Care & Handling Instructions:

  • Unpack Immediately: Remove any wrapping or rubber bands carefully upon arrival.
  • Hydrate Quickly: Cut stems at a sharp angle and place them in clean, room-temperature water.
  • Strip Lower Leaves: Remove any foliage that will be submerged in water to avoid bacterial growth.
  • Refrigerate if Possible: Store in a floral cooler or cool space (ideally 36–50°F) away from direct sun or heat.
  • Rehydrate for 4–12 Hours: Allow sufficient time for blooms to fully hydrate before arranging.
  • Daily Maintenance: Change the water and recut the stems daily for longevity.

Design Tips:

  • Use purple anemones as an eye-catching focal flower in bouquets, especially for bridesmaids or romantic wedding themes.
  • Pair beautifully with white roses, lavender ranunculus, eucalyptus, or scabiosa for a layered, textured design.
  • Perfect for monochrome palettes or color contrast with creams, blushes, or burgundies.
  • Their dark centers add boldness to centerpieces, boutonnieres, or head table arrangements.

Pro Tips:

  • Anemones tend to open up quickly in warmer environments—design close to the event date for peak bloom.
  • Use them in floating centerpieces or low-profile arrangements for added elegance.
  • If stems appear soft or bent, recut and rehydrate in warm water to revive.
  • For weddings, combine purple anemones with light pastel blooms to create a rich and balanced floral look.

What our customers say...

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
