Care & Handling

Upon Delivery:

  • Unpack flowers immediately and remove any plastic or packaging material.
  • Cut stems at a 45-degree angle, about 1 inch from the bottom, using sanitized floral shears.
  • Place stems in clean buckets or vases with cool, fresh water.
  • Allow at least 6–8 hours for hydration before arranging.

Hydration & Storage:

  • Keep red anemones in a cool location (ideally 36–50°F) away from direct light, heat, and fruit.
  • Change water daily to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Recut stems every 2 days and remove any leaves that sit below the water line.

Handling Tips:

  • Anemone petals are soft and easily bruised—handle gently.
  • Use support when transporting or storing bulk stems to avoid bending or crushing.

Design Tips:

  • Red anemones are ideal for winter weddings, Valentine’s Day events, and bold romantic floral designs.
  • Combine with blush roses, white ranunculus, or greenery for stunning bouquets and centerpieces.
  • Great for hand-tied arrangements, aisle décor, and tall floral displays.
  • Use in premium gifting, bridesmaid bouquets, or ceremony backdrops to add richness and drama.

Storage Tip:
Avoid placing near ethylene-emitting fruits like apples or bananas. Always keep flowers hydrated and stored in a cool, low-light space until use.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
