Fresh rose petals are a versatile and timeless choice for adding charm and romance to weddings, events, and romantic celebrations. Here are a few creative ways to incorporate them into your décor:

Care & Handling

Tips for Caring for Fresh Rose Petals for Weddings, Events, and Romantic Celebrations

Properly caring for fresh rose petals is essential to ensure they remain stunning and fragrant for weddings, events, or romantic occasions.

To keep fresh rose petals vibrant and fragrant for your special occasion, it’s essential to handle and store them with care. First, ensure the petals are kept cool and away from direct sunlight, as excessive heat or light can cause them to wilt or lose their color. Storing petals in a refrigerator set at around 37°F (3°C) can help maintain their freshness. Place them in a breathable container or a slightly vented plastic bag to prevent condensation, which could lead to premature rotting.

When handling the petals, be gentle to avoid bruising their delicate structure. If you plan to use them for decorating tables or aisles, wait until the last possible moment to spread them out to minimize exposure to air and heat. For scented purposes, consider misting the petals lightly with water, but avoid soaking them as it can make them too heavy or prone to decay.

If the petals arrive earlier than needed, check them regularly and remove any damaged ones to prevent spoilage. With these simple care and handling steps, your fresh rose petals will retain their beauty and fragrance, adding a touch of elegance to your wedding, event, or romantic celebration.

  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.

  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
