Tips to Decorate with Petals

Tips on Decorating with Mixed White, Red, and Orange Fresh Rose Petals

Decorating with a blend of white, red, and orange rose petals brings a stunning blend of elegance and passion to weddings, events, and romantic celebrations. Here are some practical and beautiful ideas for incorporating this combination into your decor:

 1. Create Colorful Aisle Pathways

Line wedding aisles or outdoor pathways with a mix of these vibrant petals. Arrange the colors in a gradient pattern or scatter them randomly for a lively, eye-catching effect. The combination of white, red, and orange exudes warmth and sophistication, complementing both rustic and glamorous themes.

2. Table Decor and Centerpieces

Sprinkle mixed rose petals around candles, lanterns, or table centerpieces to add a romantic touch. The combination of these hues enhances the ambiance during evening celebrations, as they look stunning in both natural and artificial lighting.

3. Pool, Fountain, or Water Feature Accents

Float the petals on water surfaces such as pools, fountains, or bowls to create a serene and luxurious atmosphere. The playful blend of colors adds vibrancy and romantic charm to the setting.

4. Backdrop Enhancements

Use petals as part of your event's photo backdrop by scattering them artfully across fabric or arranging them in specific patterns. The mixed colors will provide a bold yet lively contrast that enhances any photo moment.

5. Romantic Bed or Suite Settings

For romantic celebrations, scatter the petals across a bed or suite space. The white, red, and orange petals symbolize love, passion, and energy, setting the perfect tone for a memorable occasion.

By incorporating this striking mix of rose petals into your decor, you can elevate the beauty of any celebration. Adjust the density and placement of the petals according to the size and mood of your event for a breathtaking visual impact.

Care & Handling

Care and Handling for Fresh Rose Petals

To ensure fresh rose petals remain vibrant and beautiful throughout your weddings, events, or romantic celebrations, proper care and handling are essential. Follow these tips to maintain their pristine condition:

 1. Storage Temperature

Fresh rose petals are best kept cool. Store them in a refrigerator at a temperature between 35–40°F (1.5–4.5°C). Avoid freezing, as extreme cold can damage their texture and appearance.

2. Packaging and Handling

Keep the petals in their original packaging or transfer them to an airtight container lined with a damp paper towel. This will help retain their moisture and prevent wilting. Handle them gently to avoid bruising or tearing the delicate petals.

3. Timing and Application

Incorporate the petals into your decor as close to the event time as possible. This minimizes exposure to heat, sunlight, or wind, which can cause the petals to dry out or fade prematurely.

4. Avoid Direct Sunlight

Protect petals from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. This helps prevent discoloration and ensures they stay soft and fresh-looking throughout the event.

By following these care practices, you can achieve a stunning and lasting aesthetic for your celebration using fresh rose petals.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
