Tips to Decorate with Petals

Tips on Decorating with Mixed White, Pink, and Hot Pink Rose Petals

Decorating with a mix of white, pink, and hot pink fresh rose petals can create an enchanting and romantic ambiance for weddings, events, and celebrations. Here are some top tips to make the most of these vibrant petals:

  1. Aisle Decoration: Use the mixed rose petals to line the wedding aisle. Create intricate patterns or scatter them randomly for an effortlessly elegant look. This combination of colors adds depth and charm to the pathway.
  2. Table Centerpieces: Incorporate the petals around candles or floral arrangements as table centerpieces. The blend of white, pink, and hot pink hues complements many event themes, making tables visually striking.
  3. Romantic Backdrop: Create a petal-covered backdrop for photos or ceremonies. Layering the pink tones with white adds softness, while the hot pink accents give a bold and lively pop.
  4. Flower Cones: Fill decorative cones with the petals for guests to toss during special moments. This interactive element adds a personal touch and symbolizes love and celebration.
  5. Cake Display Enhancements: Surround a wedding or event cake with the petals for a chic and cohesive decoration. The gradient of pinks with crisp white accents highlights the elegance of the dessert table.

By carefully integrating mixed white, pink, and hot pink rose petals into your decor, you can transform any venue into a romantic and unforgettable setting that will leave guests in awe.

Care & Handling

Care and Handling for Fresh Rose Petals

Proper care and handling of fresh rose petals ensure they remain vibrant and beautiful throughout your wedding, event, or romantic celebration. To start, always source your rose petals from a reputable florist or supplier to guarantee freshness and quality. Once received, keep the petals refrigerated at a temperature of approximately 37–39°F (2.8–3.9°C). This slows down the natural wilting process and preserves their color and texture.

Avoid placing the petals in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause them to dry out or discolor prematurely. Store them in a breathable container, such as a paper bag or ventilated box, to prevent moisture buildup or mold. When it's time to use the petals, handle them gently to avoid bruising or tearing. Use clean, dry hands or tools to distribute the petals onto surfaces.

If you're using rose petals outdoors, be aware of environmental factors like wind or humidity, as these can affect their appearance. For best results, place the petals just before the event begins to maintain their freshness and aesthetic appeal. By following these simple steps, you can ensure your rose petals remain as stunning as the moment they were picked.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
