Tips to Decorate with Petals

Creative Ways to Decorate with Fresh Rose Petals

Fresh rose petals bring an air of romance and elegance to weddings, events, and celebrations. Here are some imaginative ways to use them to elevate your special occasions:

 1. Enhance Floral Arrangements

Incorporate rose petals into your table centerpieces or bouquets for a stunning, layered look that complements the main flowers and adds depth to the decor.

2. Highlight Key Areas

Sprinkle rose petals on guestbook tables, gift displays, or dessert stations for a charming and cohesive aesthetic. This effortless detail draws attention to essential areas of your event.

3. Upgrade Photography Moments

Elevate your photos by using rose petals creatively. Toss them for dynamic, playful snapshots or arrange them in artistic compositions for elegant flat-lay or close-up photography.

4. Design Enchanting Pathways

Craft a whimsical pathway using rose petals to lead guests to significant areas like a wedding altar, a proposal setting, or an intimate dining spot. Pair the petals with soft lighting from candles or string lights to create a memorable and romantic ambiance.

With these tips, fresh rose petals can transform any celebration into a magical and unforgettable experience that your guests will cherish.

Care & Handling

Proper care and handling of fresh rose petals are crucial to preserving their beauty and ensuring they enhance your special moments. Start by storing the petals in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat to prevent fading or wilting. Place them in breathable containers or mesh bags to allow airflow and reduce moisture accumulation, which can cause spoilage.

For extended freshness, keep the petals refrigerated at a temperature between 34°F and 38°F. Be sure to store them away from fruits and vegetables, as ethylene gas released can accelerate deterioration. Lightly misting the petals with water can help maintain their softness and vibrant color, especially if they will be on display for an extended period. Handle the petals gently when scattering, arranging, or decorating to avoid bruising or tearing.

By following these simple care tips, your rose petals will stay fresh and radiant, elevating any wedding, event, or romantic celebration. Whether they are used to line an aisle, accentuate tabletops, or create an enchanting ambiance, properly maintained rose petals add timeless charm and a touch of elegance to every occasion.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
