Tips to Decorate with Petals

Creative Ways to Decorate with Fresh Rose Petals

Fresh rose petals are a versatile and elegant choice for adding a touch of sophistication to weddings, events, and romantic celebrations. Here are some inspiring tips to make the most of these delicate petals:

 1. Create Stunning Centerpieces and Bouquets

Fresh rose petals make an excellent addition to floral arrangements, adding texture and depth. They effortlessly complement main flowers, elevating centerpieces or bouquets into exquisite focal points.

2. Accentuate Important Tables

Scatter rose petals across guest books, gift displays, or dessert tables to enhance their visual appeal. This simple touch ties the decor together and highlights key areas of your event.

3. Add Flair to Photography

Use rose petals to enhance photo opportunities. Whether tossing them for dynamic action shots or arranging them thoughtfully for flat-lays and close-ups, rose petals add a timeless, romantic element to your pictures.

4. Craft Romantic Pathways

Design a magical pathway with rose petals leading to a proposal setting, an intimate dinner area, or a beautifully decorated bridal suite. Combine petals with soft lighting like candles or fairy lights for an enchanting ambiance.

By incorporating these creative ideas, fresh rose petals can transform any celebration into a breathtaking experience, leaving a lasting impression on your guests.

Care & Handling

Fresh rose petals can enhance any wedding, event, or romantic celebration with their natural beauty and charm. To ensure they remain vibrant and fresh, proper care and handling are essential. Start by placing the petals in a dry, cool area, away from direct sunlight and heat, to prevent them from wilting or fading. Store the petals in breathable containers or mesh bags to allow airflow and minimize moisture buildup, which can lead to spoilage.

For extended freshness, keep them refrigerated at a temperature between 34°F and 38°F. It's important to keep them separate from fruits and vegetables to avoid exposure to ethylene gas, which can hasten deterioration. A gentle misting of water may help maintain their softness and rich color, especially if the petals will be used or displayed for a long period. Handle them with care when scattering or arranging to avoid damage or bruising.

By following these simple steps, your rose petals will retain their exquisite beauty, enhancing any special occasion. Whether lining an aisle, decorating tables, or setting the mood for an intimate moment, well-cared-for rose petals bring a timeless elegance to every celebration.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
