Tips to Decorate with Petals

Creative Ways to Decorate with Fresh Rose Petals

Fresh rose petals are a timeless choice when it comes to enhancing the decor for weddings, special events, or romantic celebrations. Their natural elegance and delicacy make them a versatile decoration element that can elevate the mood and atmosphere of any occasion. Here are some imaginative tips for using rose petals to add a touch of charm and romance:

 1. Accent Floral Designs

Incorporate rose petals alongside your floral arrangements for added dimension and beauty. Scatter them around centerpiece vases or nestle them among bouquets to create a lush, layered effect that enhances the overall display.

2. Draw Attention to Special Details

Use rose petals to highlight important areas such as the guestbook station, favor displays, or dessert table. This subtle yet thoughtful touch ties your decor together and creates an inviting visual cue for your guests.

3. Enhance Photo Opportunities

Add a whimsical element to your photography by using rose petals. Capture the magic by tossing them for lively action shots or arranging them in carefully designed patterns for sophisticated flat-lay images that will amaze.

4. Create Romantic Pathways

Design a dreamy pathway with rose petals for grand entrances or intimate settings. Perfect as a lead-up to a wedding altar, proposal location, or candlelit dining area, this idea becomes even more enchanting when paired with soft lighting like candles or fairy lights.

By incorporating these ideas, fresh rose petals can help you set the tone for a truly stunning and memorable celebration that will leave lasting impressions on your guests.

Care & Handling

To ensure your fresh rose petals remain beautiful and vibrant for weddings, events, or romantic celebrations, proper care is essential. Start by storing the petals in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat, which can cause them to fade or wilt prematurely. Opt for breathable containers or mesh bags to promote airflow and minimize moisture buildup, helping to prevent spoilage.

For maximum freshness, keep the petals refrigerated at a temperature between 34°F and 38°F. Make sure to store them separately from fruits and vegetables, as the ethylene gas they emit can lead to quicker deterioration. A light misting of water can help the petals retain their softness and rich color, especially if they will be displayed for an extended period. Always handle the petals with care during scattering, arranging, or decorating to avoid bruising or tearing.

By taking these precautions, your rose petals will stay fresh and lovely, enhancing any special moment. Whether used to line a wedding aisle, adorn tables, or create an enchanting decorative atmosphere, well-cared-for rose petals bring a touch of elegance and timeless beauty to every occasion.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
