Care & Handling

Care & Handling for Queen’s Crown Lavender Garden-Like Roses (formerly Allure Lavender Roses)

Unpacking the Roses:

Upon arrival, carefully unpack your Queen’s Crown Lavender Roses, which have replaced the Allure variety. Remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth and promote longer vase life.

Trimming the Stems:

Cut about 1 inch from the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle under running water to ensure maximum hydration and water absorption.

Hydration:

Place your roses in a clean vase or bucket filled with room-temperature water and flower food. Allow them to hydrate for 4–6 hours in a cool, shaded area before arranging.

Water Maintenance:

Change the water every 1–2 days and re-cut the stems slightly each time to keep your Queen’s Crown Roses fresh, vibrant, and well-hydrated.

Storage:

Store your Queen’s Crown Garden-Like Roses in a cool environment (36–75°F), away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources. Proper temperature control extends their vase life and preserves their luxurious petal structure.

Guard Petals:

The outer guard petals may appear slightly bruised—this is normal and protects the bloom during transport. Gently remove them to reveal the elegant garden-style petals beneath.

Avoid Ethylene Exposure:

Keep your roses away from ripening fruits and vegetables, as they emit ethylene gas, which can shorten bloom life.

Longevity:

With proper care, Queen’s Crown Lavender Roses will remain fresh and beautiful for 7–10 days, offering long-lasting fragrance and garden-like elegance for weddings, events, and floral designs.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
