Care & Handling

Care & Handling for Bulk Akito White Roses

Unpack Immediately:
Upon arrival, carefully unpack your Bulk Akito White Roses to avoid bruising. Gently remove any foliage that will sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial buildup.

Trim for Hydration:
Using sharp floral shears, trim 1 inch off the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle under running water. This maximizes water intake and helps your Akito roses stay hydrated.

Initial Hydration:
Place your bulk roses in a clean vase or floral bucket filled with room-temperature water. Add high-quality floral preservative or flower food. Allow 4–6 hours for full hydration in a cool, shaded space.

Water Refresh & Stem Recut:
Every 24–48 hours, replace the water and re-trim the stems slightly to maintain freshness. Always use clean containers to reduce bacteria, especially for wedding flower prep.

Ideal Storage Conditions:
Keep roses stored between 36–75°F, away from direct sunlight, heat, drafts, or any sources of ethylene gas (like ripening fruit). A floral cooler is ideal for bulk storage.

Guard Petal Removal:
Akito White Roses may have outer guard petals that appear slightly bruised—these are natural protective layers. Simply peel them away to reveal the flawless inner petals.

Avoid Ethylene Exposure:
Ethylene gas can age roses prematurely. Keep your Akito bulk roses away from bananas, apples, vegetables, and smoke to extend vase life.

Expected Longevity:
With proper care, your Bulk Akito White Roses will remain vibrant and event-ready for 7 to 10 days, ensuring lasting elegance for weddings, centerpieces, and floral installations.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
