Care & Handling

Care & Handling for Aloha Orange Rose:

  1. Unpacking:

    • Gently unpack the Aloha Orange Roses immediately upon delivery to avoid damage. Remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
  2. Trimming the Stems:

    • Trim about 1 inch from the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle under running water. This allows for better water absorption and helps keep the roses hydrated.
  3. Hydration:

    • Place the roses in a clean vase or bucket filled with room-temperature water mixed with flower food. Allow them to hydrate for 4-6 hours in a cool, shaded area.
  4. Water Maintenance:

    • Change the water every 1-2 days and re-cut the stems slightly each time to maintain maximum hydration and freshness.
  5. Storage:

    • Keep your Aloha Orange Roses in a cool environment (36-75°F), away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources to extend their vase life.
  6. Guard Petals:

    • The outer guard petals may appear slightly bruised. Gently remove them to reveal the pristine inner petals and ensure a flawless display.
  7. Avoid Ethylene Exposure:

    • Keep the roses away from ripening fruits and vegetables, as they release ethylene gas, which can shorten the lifespan of the blooms.
  8. Longevity:

    • With proper care, Aloha Orange Roses will stay fresh and vibrant for 7-10 days, ensuring long-lasting beauty for your floral arrangements.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
