Care & Handling

Care & Handling Instructions for Bikini Yellow Biological Roses

  1. Unpacking: Upon receiving your Bikini Yellow Biological Roses, carefully unpack them from the shipping box. Gently remove any protective wrapping, ensuring not to damage the petals or stems.
  2. Hydration: Immediately place the roses in water. Fill clean vases or buckets with fresh, cool water. Make sure to use a sanitized container to prevent bacterial growth. Add flower food to the water to nourish the roses and enhance their longevity.
  3. Cutting the Stems: Before placing the roses in the water, cut about 1 to 2 inches from the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle using clean, sharp floral shears. This improves water uptake, allowing the roses to hydrate properly.
  4. Removing Foliage: Strip any leaves that will be submerged below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth, which can shorten the vase life of your roses.
  5. Hydration Period: Allow the roses to hydrate in a cool, shaded area for at least 4-6 hours before arranging them. This helps the blooms fully rehydrate and reach their maximum freshness.
  6. Display Conditions: Once hydrated, arrange the roses in your preferred display. Keep them in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources to prolong their lifespan. Avoid placing them near fruits, as ethylene gas can cause premature wilting.
  7. Water Maintenance: Change the water every 2 days and re-cut the stems at a 45-degree angle to ensure continued hydration. Adding flower food with each water change can help extend the vase life.
  8. Optimal Vase Life: With proper care, Bikini Yellow Biological Roses can last between 6-14 days, depending on handling and environmental conditions.

What our customers say...

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
