Care & Handling

Upon Arrival:

  • Open the box immediately.
  • Gently unpack stems and remove any protective wrapping.
  • Trim ½ inch off the bottom of each stem diagonally using sharp floral shears.
  • Place in clean buckets filled with fresh, lukewarm water and floral preservative.

Hydration & Storage:

  • Let the flowers hydrate for at least 4–6 hours before arranging.
  • Store in a cool place (ideally 34–38°F), away from heat, fruits, and direct light.
  • Do not submerge the foliage in water to avoid bacterial growth.

Ongoing Maintenance:

  • Change the water daily and re-trim stems slightly every two days.
  • Remove any wilted blooms or yellowing foliage to keep arrangements fresh.
  • Lightly mist the blooms in dry environments to help retain moisture.

Design Tips:

  • Bridal Bouquets: These sweet peas pair beautifully with ivory roses, blush peonies, and pale pink ranunculus to create soft, romantic bouquets.
  • Table Decor: Use in loose, organic arrangements with eucalyptus, lavender, and stock for affordable yet luxurious centerpiece styles.
  • Color Matching: The peach-salmon tone works well with champagne, coral, white, and pale yellow accents.
  • Texture & Depth: Use as filler to add texture, airiness, and movement in garden-style floral designs.

Pro Tips:

  • Sweet peas have delicate petals and benefit from gentle handling.
  • Secure them with lightweight floral tape in handheld arrangements.
  • Use shallow vessels with floral foam or grid tape to support stems without damage.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
