Care and Handling of Fresh Cut Ring of Fire Sunflowers

To ensure the ring of fire sunflowers remain vibrant and beautiful, follow these care and handling guidelines:

  1. Initial Hydration: Upon receiving your fresh cut sunflowers, promptly remove any packaging and place them in a clean vase filled with lukewarm water to kickstart hydration.
  2. Stem Preparation: Cut approximately 1-2 inches from the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle. This increases the surface area for water absorption, keeping the flowers hydrated and fresh.
  3. Change Water Regularly: Change the water in the vase every 1-2 days. This practice prevents bacterial growth, ensuring the longevity of your sunflowers.
  4. Location Matters: Position your sunflowers away from direct sunlight, heating sources, or cold drafts. Maintaining a consistent temperature within the range of 65-70°F will help them thrive.
  5. Preventative Measures: Add a floral preservative to the water if available. This not only nourishes the flowers but also reduces bacterial buildup.
  6. Inspect and Maintain: Regularly check your sunflowers for any fading petals or wilting. If identified, re-trim the stems and replace the water to revive the blooms.

By adhering to these care instructions, your ring of fire sunflowers will remain a captivating centerpiece in any fall decor, prolonging their beauty and appeal.
