FAQ for Fall Bouquets & Centerpieces

Q: How long will the fall bouquet last?

A: With proper care, the bouquet should last between 5 to 7 days. To extend its freshness, regularly change the water and keep the arrangement away from heat and direct sunlight.

Q: What should I do if the Sunflowers start wilting?

A: Remove any wilting petals and ensure the stems are trimmed every couple of days. Providing fresh water regularly can help revive the flowers.

Q: Can I substitute any flowers if allergies are an issue?

A: Yes, substitutions can be made depending on availability and preference. Consult with your florist for allergy-friendly alternatives.

Q: How often should the water be changed in the vase?

A: Change the water every 2 to 3 days to prevent bacteria buildup, which can shorten the lifespan of the flowers.

Q: Can I add anything to the water to keep the flowers fresh?

A: Adding a floral preservative to the water can help maintain the bouquet’s vibrancy. If a preservative is unavailable, a tablespoon of sugar and a few drops of bleach can serve as an alternative.

Q: Where is the best place to display the bouquet?

A: Place the bouquet in a cool room that receives indirect sunlight, away from fruits and other ethylene-producing items. This setting can enhance the longevity of the flowers.

Q: What should I do if the flowers are damaged during shipping?

A: Contact the supplier immediately to report any damage. Most florists offer replacement or refund policies under such circumstances.

Fall Bouquets Care & Handling

To ensure your bouquet maintains its vibrant beauty, follow these care and handling guidelines:

  1. Unpack and Inspect: Upon receiving your bouquet containing 1 Sunflower, 1 Petite Sunflower, 1 Bell of Ireland, 2 Minicarn/Carn Orange, 2 Alstroemeria Red, 2 Poms Yellow, and 2 Poms Bronze, gently unpack it and inspect the flowers for any damage or wilting. Remove any outer petals or leaves that may be browning.
  2. Trimming Stems: Using sharp scissors or a floral knife, cut each flower stem at an angle under running water. This helps prevent air bubbles from forming in the stem, ensuring better water uptake.
  3. Prepare the Vase: Fill a clean vase with room temperature water and add a floral preservative, if available, to nourish the flowers and extend their lifespan.
  4. Arranging: Begin arranging your bouquet with the larger focal flowers, such as the Sunflower and Petite Sunflower. Integrate the Bell of Ireland and Alstroemeria Red for height and texture, then fill in with the colorful Poms for contrast.
  5. Water Maintenance: Every two days, change the water to keep it fresh and free of bacteria. Trim the stems slightly during each water change to enhance hydration.
  6. Placement: Display the bouquet in a location away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as well as any ripening fruit, which emits ethylene gas that can accelerate flower decay.

By following these steps, your striking bouquet will stay fresh and vibrant, bringing joy and beauty to its surroundings.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
