A: With proper care, cut ranunculus should last around 5 to 7 days. To maximize their lifespan, change the water regularly and keep them in a cool environment.

Q: What are the ideal conditions for displaying ranunculus?

A: Place ranunculus in a spot that receives indirect light and stays cool. Avoid placing them near heat sources or direct sunlight to prevent premature wilting.

Q: How should I care for ranunculus stems?

A: Trim the stems at an angle under running water every couple of days to encourage water absorption. Be sure to remove any leaves that may sit below the waterline to minimize bacterial growth.

Q: Can I use any specific additives in the water to prolong freshness?

Q: What should I do if I notice any signs of wilting or decline?

Care and Handling for Fresh Cut Ranunculus

Ensuring your ranunculus flowers remain vibrant and beautiful for as long as possible requires attentive care. Follow these guidelines to maximize the lifespan and enjoyment of your fresh cut ranunculus:

  1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection: Upon receiving your ranunculus, carefully unpack each bloom and inspect for any visible damage. Remove any damaged or discolored petals.
  2. Stem Trimming: Using clean, sharp scissors or a floral knife, trim each stem at a 45-degree angle under running water. This technique facilitates better water absorption by preventing air pockets in the stems.
  3. Vase Preparation: Fill a clean vase with fresh, room-temperature water and add a floral preservative if available. This provides your flowers with essential nutrients and helps to deter bacterial growth.
  4. Arrangement: Place the ranunculus in the vase, ensuring that no leaves are submerged below the waterline to minimize bacterial buildup. Adjust the arrangement for optimum presentation and airflow around the blooms.
  5. Water and Maintenance: Every two to three days, replace the water in the vase and re-trim the stems to maintain hydration and freshness. Monitor the water level daily to ensure the stems are always submerged.
  6. Environmental Placement: Display the vase in a cool area with indirect sunlight, away from heat sources, drafts, and any ripening fruits, which can emit ethylene gas that speeds up the wilting process.

By following these care and handling techniques, your fresh cut ranunculus will remain striking and full of life, enhancing any space with their delicate beauty.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
