Care & Handling

Upon Arrival:

  • Unpack carefully and remove any protective sleeves or rubber bands.
  • Trim stems at a 45-degree angle with sharp, clean shears.
  • Place immediately in cool, clean water and let hydrate for at least 6–8 hours before use.

Storage Instructions:

  • Store flowers in a cool room (36°F–50°F), away from sunlight and heating vents.
  • Change the water daily to avoid bacterial build-up and extend flower life.
  • Re-cut stems every other day for longer-lasting freshness.
  • Remove leaves that fall below the water line.

Handling Tips:

  • Handle stems gently—anemone petals are delicate and bruise easily.
  • Allow time for blooms to open naturally for the best floral effect.
  • Avoid placing anemones near ethylene-producing fruits (like apples or bananas), which can shorten lifespan.

Design Suggestions:

  • Pair with ranunculus, garden roses, lisianthus, or eucalyptus for wedding-ready floral combinations.
  • Use a mix of colors for vibrant bouquets, or stick with one color tone for elegant minimalism.
  • Add to mason jars, footed compotes, or ceramic vases for rustic to modern design styles.
  • Ideal for bridesmaids’ bouquets, entry table centerpieces, or gift arrangements with a premium look.

Pro Tip:
For added texture and support, use chicken wire or floral foam to anchor stems in large arrangements. Hydrate for 24 hours before final setup for peak beauty.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
