Care & Handling

Care and Handling for Fresh Rose Petals

Fresh rose petals are a timeless addition to weddings, events, and romantic celebrations, bringing elegance and charm to any occasion. To maintain their vivid color and delicate texture, avoid exposing the petals to excessive moisture, as this can lead to wilting, discoloration, or mold. If the petals do get damp, carefully pat them dry using a soft cloth or paper towel.

For the best results, it is recommended to use fresh rose petals on the same day as your event. About 30 minutes prior to use, take them out of refrigeration to allow them to reach room temperature. Always handle the petals gently with clean, dry hands to prevent bruising or damaging their soft surface.

By following these guidelines, your fresh rose petals will remain vibrant and beautiful, enhancing any setting. Whether scattered along an aisle, decorating table arrangements, or used to craft intricate designs, they will add a timeless, romantic touch to your celebration. These simple care tips ensure that your petals will look stunning and leave a lasting impression.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
