Find Premium Reindeer Moss Wholesale - The Designer's Pick for Moss Walls & Modern Decor

Bring living-art texture to any space with our wholesale Reindeer Moss — the lush, fluffy, branching natural green lichen that's become the centerpiece of the moss wall and biophilic design movement. Often called reindeer lichen because it's botanically a lichen (Cladonia rangiferina) rather than a true moss, our bulk Reindeer Moss arrives soft, voluminous, and rich in texture — ready to install in vertical moss walls, framed moss art panels, terrariums, fairy gardens, wedding centerpieces, and architectural displays. Whether you're an interior designer commissioning a corporate green wall, a craft business building moss art for retail, a wedding florist designing modern centerpieces, or a hobbyist creating a stunning terrarium, our premium Reindeer Moss delivers the dimensional, eye-catching texture that elevates any project from ordinary to gallery-worthy.

The #1 Choice for Moss Walls & Biophilic Interior Design

Reindeer Moss has exploded in popularity thanks to the biophilic design trend — the movement bringing natural elements into offices, restaurants, hotels, and modern homes. Its light, fluffy, branching structure creates a stunning vertical texture that flat sheet moss simply can't deliver, and it's the favorite material for designers crafting living-look moss walls, framed moss art, and ceiling installations. Best of all, preserved Reindeer Moss requires zero maintenance — no watering, no sunlight, no upkeep. For event planners and stylists working on full installations, browse our wholesale wreaths and garlands collection to combine Reindeer Moss with garlanded backdrops for high-impact, photo-ready displays.

Stunning for Orchid Toppers & Living Plant Designs

Beyond moss walls, Reindeer Moss is the secret weapon of professional orchid growers, plant stylists, and luxury florists. Its airy, branching texture makes it the ideal soil topper for potted orchids and houseplants — adding visual polish while helping with moisture retention and drainage. Floral designers also use it to elevate gift baskets, plant arrangements, and modern bouquet bases. Pair it with our wholesale orchids to create show-stopping orchid arrangements with a designer-grade finish — the soft chartreuse-green of Reindeer Moss against orchid blooms is a pairing florists charge a premium for.

Versatile for Crafts, Terrariums, Weddings & Beyond

Reindeer Moss isn't just for designers — it's a craft and DIY favorite, too. Use it in terrariums, vivariums, and fairy gardens to add texture and color, in dioramas and architectural models for realistic landscapes, in wreaths and seasonal displays for natural depth, and in modern wedding centerpieces for a boho-meets-modern look. It's also a go-to material for kids' craft projects, school dioramas, and reptile habitats thanks to its soft, non-toxic texture. Stocking up for multiple projects? Pair your Reindeer Moss with our wholesale bulk flowers to build complete, dimensional designs at unbeatable per-unit pricing — the smartest way to buy when you're producing at scale.

Designing Tips

Reindeer Moss Design Tips: Pro Techniques for Moss Walls & Decor

Reindeer Moss is one of the most rewarding materials to design with because of its unique branching texture and visual drama. Whether you're installing your first moss wall or building a craft-store-quality moss art panel, these designer-tested techniques will help you achieve the polished, professional results clients pay top dollar for.

Hydrate Slightly Before Installation for Best Workability

Dry Reindeer Moss can be fragile — its branching tips break easily when handled too roughly. To soften it for installation, lightly mist with water or a 50/50 water-glycerin mix about 30 minutes before you begin. This restores some flexibility, makes the moss easier to shape and press into adhesive, and prevents the breakage that creates patchy, unprofessional-looking finishes. Don't soak it — a light misting is all it takes.

Use Variety in Color & Density for Realism

The biggest secret behind designer moss walls? Mixing multiple shades of green within the same panel. Don't apply your Reindeer Moss in a single uniform tone — instead, mix natural green with chartreuse or darker forest tones to create depth and a more "alive" appearance. Vary the density too: pack some areas tightly for a lush look, and leave others slightly looser for breathing room. Uniform = artificial; variation = natural and premium.

Anchor Securely with Floral Adhesive or Hot Glue

For moss walls, framed moss art, and any vertical installation, secure Reindeer Moss with a strong floral adhesive, hot glue gun, or specialized moss-wall mounting glue. Apply adhesive in small sections (about 6"x6" at a time) and press the moss down firmly with the branching side facing outward. Hold each piece in place for 10–15 seconds to set. For wreaths and craft projects, you can also use floral wire or U-pins to attach moss to backer boards or foam wreath frames.

Pair Sizes Strategically for Visual Impact

Reindeer Moss naturally varies in piece size — and the best designers use that to their advantage. Use your largest, fluffiest pieces ("heads") as focal points in moss walls, wreaths, and centerpieces; use medium pieces to fill the bulk of an area; use smaller fragments to fill gaps and edges. This size-grading technique gives professional-quality finishes without any wasted material — a smart way to maximize every box of moss you order.

FAQ

Reindeer Moss FAQs

Is Reindeer Moss really moss?

No — despite its name, Reindeer Moss is not technically a moss. It's a lichen (Cladonia rangiferina), which is a unique organism formed by a partnership between fungus and algae. It earned the name "Reindeer Moss" because it's the primary winter food source for reindeer and caribou in Arctic regions. Buyers, designers, and growers still call it moss because of its soft, plant-like appearance and traditional name in the floral and craft industries.

How is Reindeer Moss used in moss walls?

Reindeer Moss is the #1 material used in modern moss walls because of its lush, branching texture and zero-maintenance nature. To create a moss wall, designers attach a backer board to the wall, apply strong floral adhesive in sections, and press preserved Reindeer Moss firmly into place. Mixing natural green with chartreuse or darker tones creates the dimensional, "living" look. Once installed, preserved Reindeer Moss requires no watering, no sunlight, and no upkeep — making it ideal for offices, restaurants, hotels, and homes.

What's the difference between Reindeer Moss and Deerfoot Moss?

Both are lichens, but they have different characteristics. Reindeer Moss is larger, fluffier, and more voluminous — perfect for big-impact moss walls and statement pieces. Deerfoot Moss is smaller, with a tighter, brighter weave — cleaner-looking and ideal for terrariums, fairy gardens, and detailed craft projects. Designers often use both together, with Reindeer Moss as the dominant texture and Deerfoot Moss for accents and detail work.

Does Reindeer Moss need water or sunlight?

Preserved Reindeer Moss requires absolutely no water, no sunlight, and no maintenance — that's part of why it's so popular for moss walls and indoor decor. The preservation process replaces the natural moisture with a non-toxic, plant-safe glycerin solution that keeps it soft, vibrant, and lifelike for years. Just keep it out of direct sunlight (to prevent color fading) and away from high humidity to ensure the longest lifespan.

Can Reindeer Moss be dyed or come in different colors?

Yes — Reindeer Moss is naturally a soft chartreuse-green or grayish-white, but it's commonly available in dyed shades including bright green, dark forest green, lime, blue, and even bold hues like pink and red. The dyes used are non-toxic and color-fast, making colored Reindeer Moss perfect for themed moss walls, branded corporate installations, and creative craft projects. Mixing multiple colors within one design adds depth and visual interest.
