Care & Handling:

Hydrangeas are water thirsty and travel with individual flower bags so they are fully hydrated while in transit. Unpack Hydrangeas as soon as you receive them and cut about one inch of the stem at an angle under water (with a sharp knife NOT scissors). Peel about 2-3 inches of the stem around (as though peeling a carrot) and make some incisions at the bottom of the stem to further enable hydration. Hydrangeas suffer from dehydration and water stress. Keep these flowers in water at all times since they need continuous hydration. Hydrangeas arrive compressed. Heads will become bigger and fuller as soon as Hydrangeas drink water after being hydrated. If your Hydrangea heads start to look limpy and extremely dehydrated after being hydrated, re-cut the stems and fill a bathtab or a big container and submerge them completely from top to bottom for at least 4 hours. This will rehydrate the Hydrangeas properly so they perk up. The reason why Hydrangea heads become limp and dehydrated is because the Hydrangea stems contain a transparent liquid that seals them.
