Care & Handling

Care & Handling – Hydrangea Jumbo - Choose Your Own Colors | 100 Stems

Upon arrival, immediately unpack your Hydrangea Jumbo - Choose Your Own Colors | 100 Stems and remove any protective wrapping. Trim 1–2 inches from the stems at a sharp angle while submerged in fresh, lukewarm water to prevent air bubbles from blocking water uptake. Remove excess foliage below the waterline to keep the water clean. Hydrangeas love water — allow them to rehydrate for 6–8 hours in cool, shaded conditions. Fill containers with ample water and add floral preservative if available. Mist the blooms lightly to maintain hydration, especially in warmer environments. For optimal longevity, change the water daily and re-trim the stems every 2–3 days. Keep arrangements away from direct sunlight, heating vents, or cold drafts. If blooms begin to wilt, submerge the entire flower head in cool water for about 20 minutes to revive it. With proper care, these jumbo blooms will continue to impress guests and elevate your special event décor for days.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
