Care & Handling

1. Unpack and Hydrate Immediately

  • Remove packaging to allow roses to breathe.
  • Cut stems at a 45° angle under running water for optimal hydration.

2. Prepare Fresh Water

  • Place stems in clean, lukewarm water with floral preservative.
  • Strip any foliage that will sit underwater to prevent bacteria.

3. Allow Proper Rehydration

  • Let roses hydrate for 4–6 hours before arranging.
  • Store in a cool, shaded area during conditioning.

4. Maintain Water Quality

  • Refresh water every 24–48 hours.
  • Re-cut stems each time for maximum vase life.

5. Protect Blooms

  • Keep away from sunlight, heaters, or drafts.
  • Avoid storing near fruits that emit ethylene gas.

Designing Tips

1. Highlight the Bicolor Effect

  • Use contrasting greenery like pine, cedar, or eucalyptus to make the color blends stand out.
  • Feature the most vibrant roses as focal blooms in centerpieces.

2. Incorporate Seasonal Textures

  • Add pinecones, ornaments, ribbon, or metallic accents for Christmas appeal.
  • Mix with white flowers to balance rich holiday tones.

3. Create Luxurious Holiday Centerpieces

  • Arrange tightly for a full, round, premium look.
  • Use bicolor roses to create depth and gradient within the arrangement.

4. Add Lighting for Drama

  • Candlelight or fairy lights enhance metallic and dual-tone finishes.
  • Warm lighting complements gold hues; cool lighting highlights silvers.

5. Build Structured Floral Designs

  • Use color-blocking or layering for visual impact.
  • Add branches or winter greens for height and shape.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
