Care & Handling

Care & Handling for Amelia White Roses

  1. Unpacking: Gently remove the roses from their packaging, being careful not to damage the delicate white petals.

  2. Trimming Stems: Cut each stem at a 45-degree angle using sharp floral shears. This allows for optimal water absorption and helps the roses stay hydrated.

  3. Hydration: Immediately place the freshly trimmed roses into a clean vase or bucket filled with cool, fresh water and floral food. Hydration is key to maintaining the freshness and longevity of the blooms.

  4. Water Maintenance: Change the water every 24-48 hours, and re-trim the stems to prevent bacterial growth and keep the roses looking vibrant.

  5. Storage: Store the roses in a cool, shaded area, away from direct sunlight, heat, and drafts. Ideal storage temperature is between 36-38°F until they are ready for display.

  6. Leaf Removal: Remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth, which can shorten the life of the roses.

  7. Display: Once arranged, keep your Amelia White Roses in a cool area, away from direct sunlight and heat, to prolong their beauty throughout your event.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
