Care & Handling

Care & Handling for 3-D Bicolor Biological Roses:

  1. Unpack Promptly:

    • Gently remove the roses from their packaging as soon as they arrive to prevent bruising or damage.
  2. Trimming the Stems:

    • Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle with a sharp knife or floral shears. This increases water uptake and keeps the roses hydrated.
  3. Hydration:

    • Place the roses in a vase or bucket with room-temperature water immediately after trimming. Use flower food to maximize the lifespan of your roses.
  4. Rehydration Period:

    • Allow the roses to hydrate for at least 4-6 hours in a cool, dark space before using them in your floral designs.
  5. Water Change:

    • Change the water every 1-2 days and re-trim the stems slightly each time to maintain freshness and prolong the lifespan of the blooms.
  6. Storage Tips:

    • Store in a cool place (ideally around 36-75°F) and avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, drafts, or extreme temperatures.
  7. Avoid Ethylene Gas:

    • Keep the roses away from fruits, vegetables, and smoke, as these can emit ethylene gas, which may shorten the roses' lifespan.
  8. Display Suggestions:

    • When arranging the roses, remove any outer guard petals for a cleaner look and consider pairing them with neutral or complementary-colored flowers to highlight their bicolor effect.
  9. Longevity:

    • Properly cared for, these roses will retain their beauty for 7-10 days, ensuring they remain a striking centerpiece throughout your event.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
