Care

Care and Handling for Fresh Green Roses for Weddings and Events

Proper care and handling of fresh green roses are essential to ensure they remain vibrant and picturesque for special occasions like weddings and events. Here are some essential tips to help maintain their freshness:

  1. Unpacking: Upon receiving the roses, carefully unpack them to avoid damaging the delicate petals and stems.
  2. Hydration: Immediately place the stems in room-temperature water. Trim about 1-2 inches off the stems at a 45-degree angle using a sharp, clean pair of shears to allow maximum water absorption.
  3. Clean Water and Containers: Use clean vases or containers filled with fresh water and a flower food solution to nourish the roses and help them last longer.
  4. Storage: Keep the roses in a cool area away from direct sunlight, drafts, or sources of heat. Ideally, store the roses at a temperature of 36-46°F when not in use.
  5. Petal Care: Gently remove any outer guard petals that may appear blemished. These petals protect the rose during transit.
  6. Hydration Maintenance: Regularly check the water level in the vase and replace it every 1-2 days with fresh water and flower food to prevent bacterial buildup.

By following these guidelines, green roses will remain fresh and stunning, adding an elegant touch to any event or wedding setting.

Arranging Tips

Arranging Tips for Luxurious Green Roses in Event and Wedding Floral Designs

  1. Choose Complementary Colors: Green roses pair beautifully with soft pastel shades like blush pink, lavender, or cream to create a romantic and elegant look. For a modern or bold design, combine them with deep burgundy or navy blue accents.
  2. Play with Textures: Incorporate greenery such as eucalyptus, ferns, or ivy to enhance the natural beauty of the green roses. Consider adding textured flowers like ranunculus or hydrangeas to create depth and dimension.
  3. Layer and Flow: Arrange the roses in varying heights to establish a natural, organic flow. Position the larger blooms toward the base of the arrangement and smaller ones near the top to achieve balance and harmony.
  4. Use Unique Vessels: Opt for unique containers such as antique vases, geometric terrariums, or gold-accented planters to elevate the overall presentation of the floral design.
  5. Personalize with Details: Add refined touches to suit the theme of the event or wedding, such as silk ribbons, pearls, or subtle metallic accents that complement the roses without overpowering their charm.

By carefully curating color palettes, textures, and design elements, green roses can serve as the centerpiece for captivating and luxurious event and wedding floral arrangements.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
