Care & Handling

Care and Handling for Fresh Rose Petals for Weddings, Events, and Romantic Celebrations

Fresh rose petals add an enchanting touch to any special occasion, and properly caring for them ensures they stay vibrant and beautiful. Follow these tips to keep your petals in perfect condition:

 1. Keep Them Hydrated

Store your rose petals in their original packaging or an airtight container with a slightly damp paper towel. This helps retain their moisture and prevents them from drying out, preserving their lush appearance.

2. Handle Delicately

Rose petals are fragile and can tear or bruise easily. Handle them as little as possible, and always use a gentle touch to maintain their pristine condition and natural charm.

3. Use Close to Your Event

Add petals to your decor or arrangements shortly before your celebration begins. Minimizing their exposure to wind, heat, and direct sunlight will keep them fresh and alluring throughout the event.

4. Avoid Sunlight and Extreme Conditions

Protect the petals by storing them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or harsh elements. Excess heat and sun can fade their colors and cause them to lose their softness.

By taking these steps, your rose petals will leave a lasting impression, adding a romantic and elegant ambiance to your celebration.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
