Tips to Decorate with Petals

Tips for Decorating with Fresh Rose Petals

 1. Aisle Runners

Create a romantic and elegant walkway by scattering rose petals along the aisle. Opt for a thick carpet of petals for a luxurious look, or arrange them into patterns like swirls or shapes to add a personal touch.

2. Table Centerpieces

Elevate your table decorations by sprinkling petals around centerpieces. Pair them with candles, vases, or fairy lights to enhance their beauty and create an inviting ambiance.

3. Floral Backdrops

Use rose petals to craft stunning photo backdrops or ceremonial arches. Glue or pin the petals onto a fabric surface or entwine them with greenery for a lush, romantic statement piece.

4. Guest Tossing

Instead of rice or confetti, provide guests with cones or sachets filled with fresh rose petals to toss during the recessional or first dance. This creates a beautiful moment and amazing photo opportunities.

5. Bath Decor

For romantic celebrations, sprinkle rose petals over a bathtub filled with water. Pair with scented candles to craft a relaxing and intimate setting.

6. Cake and Dessert Accent

Garnish wedding cakes or dessert tables with perfectly fresh rose petals. Ensure the petals are edible or food-safe to prevent any issues during the event.

Remember to coordinate the color of the petals with the event's theme for a harmonious look. These simple techniques can elevate your event, adding elegance, romance, and a touch of nature to your special day.

Care & Handling

Tips for Handling and Caring for Fresh Rose Petals for Celebrations

Proper care is vital to preserving the beauty of fresh rose petals for weddings, events, and romantic occasions. Choosing petals that are fresh and free of blemishes ensures the best visual appeal. Store them in a cool, dry place, such as a refrigerator, while avoiding too much moisture or direct sunlight. Handle the petals gently to avoid tears or bruising, and if they appear dry, lightly mist them with water—taking care not to over-saturate, as this can cause early wilting. By following these steps, you can keep the petals vibrant and elegant for any memorable event.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
