Q & A

Q: What is Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus best used for?
A: Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus is perfect for spring weddings, joyful celebrations, and events needing a bright, sunny accent. Its soft petals and airy structure bring movement and charm to bouquets, centerpieces, and installations.

Q: How is the butterfly variety different from regular ranunculus?
A: Unlike traditional ranunculus with dense layers, the butterfly variety has delicate, translucent petals that fan outward, resembling butterfly wings. They offer a lighter, more organic look.

Q: When should I order Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus for my event?
A: Plan to receive your flowers 2–3 days before your event. This gives them time to rehydrate, open fully, and be arranged at their best stage of bloom.

Q: How long do Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus last after delivery?
A: With proper care, they last approximately 5–7 days in arrangements. Keeping them hydrated and cool is key to maximizing vase life.

Q: Can I buy Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus in bulk?
A: Yes! They are available in bulk quantities, making them a cost-effective option for weddings, large events, and seasonal floral displays.

Care & Handling

Upon Arrival:

  • Unpack immediately and remove any foliage below the water line.
  • Cut stems at a 45-degree angle under cool running water.
  • Place in clean buckets with fresh water and floral preservative.

Hydration Process:

  • Allow flowers to hydrate in a cool room (ideally 34–38°F) for 8–12 hours.
  • Avoid overcrowding stems to maintain their natural shape and air circulation.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, or ethylene gas (ripening fruit).

Storage Tips:

  • Store upright in a floral cooler if possible.
  • Recut stems every 2 days and refresh water to prolong vase life.
  • Handle gently, as butterfly ranunculus petals are thin and delicate.

Design Tips:

  • Combine with cream roses, pale ranunculus, or greenery for spring-inspired wedding bouquets.
  • Use as a focal bloom in bud vases or accent in large centerpieces for pops of color.
  • Perfect for baby showers, garden weddings, bridal brunches, or yellow-themed events.
  • Their fluttery shape adds natural movement to modern, garden, or whimsical design styles.
  • Also great for boutonnieres, corsages, and floral crowns due to their light, graceful structure.

Pro Tip:
Use Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus in arrangements where you want visual softness with a sunny pop of color — it bridges the gap between bold and airy beautifully.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
