Arranging Tips

Arranging Tips for Hot Pink Peonies

  1. Let Them Shine: Use hot pink peonies as the bold focal point of your arrangement. Their rich color and full blooms create instant visual impact.
  2. Balance with Neutrals: Pair with white garden roses, ivory ranunculus, or soft blush spray roses to tone down the intensity and create contrast.
  3. Add Texture: Incorporate textural fillers like seeded eucalyptus, dusty miller, or astilbe to soften the arrangement and add movement.
  4. Layer Heights: Use peonies at slightly varied heights to create dimension. Nestle buds lower and place fully open blooms higher for a natural flow.
  5. Group for Impact: Arrange them in clusters rather than spacing them evenly. Grouping peonies enhances their lush look and mimics natural growth.
  6. Vessel Choice: Use modern gold or ceramic compote bowls for centerpieces, or tall glass vases for dramatic altar arrangements.

Care

Care & Handling for Hot Pink Peonies (Delivered 3–4 Days Before Your Event)

  1. Unpack Immediately: Upon arrival, remove all packaging and inspect blooms. Slightly closed or soft buds are ideal—this means they’re ready to open.
  2. Trim Stems: Cut 1–2 inches off the stems at a 45° angle under running water to maximize hydration.
  3. Hydrate Well: Place stems in a clean container filled with fresh, cool water and floral preservative. Ensure no foliage sits below the waterline.
  4. Encourage Opening: Store in a room with good airflow at 65–72°F (not in the fridge). Peonies will begin to open gradually over the next few days.
  5. Change Water Daily: Replace the water and re-trim stems each day to keep bacteria away and encourage full blooming.
  6. For Faster Blooming: If needed, place flowers in a warmer spot with bright indirect light—but avoid direct sun or heat sources.
  7. Ready for the Event: By day 3 or 4, blooms should be lush, open, and picture-perfect for your event or wedding.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
