Q & A

Q&A – Coral Peony Flower Delivery

Q: When is the best time to order coral peonies for my event?
A: Coral peonies are seasonal and typically available from late spring through early summer. It’s best to place your order 7–10 days before your event for optimal bloom timing.

Q: Will the coral color fade after the flower opens?
A: Coral peonies may soften slightly in hue as they bloom, transitioning from vibrant coral to peachy tones. This is a natural and beautiful evolution of the bloom.

Q: How many stems should I order for a bridal bouquet?
A: For a full peony bridal bouquet, we recommend 10–15 stems depending on bloom size and desired fullness.

Q: Can coral peonies be mixed with other flowers?
A: Absolutely. Coral peonies pair well with peach garden roses, cream ranunculus, white lisianthus, and silver dollar eucalyptus for romantic arrangements.

Q: Do the peonies arrive open or closed?
A: Peonies are shipped in bud form to ensure freshness during transit. They will gradually open over 2–3 days at room temperature.

Care & Handling

Care & Handling – Coral Peony Flower Delivery

  1. Unpack Immediately
Remove peonies from the box as soon as they arrive. Carefully unwrap each bunch and inspect for any transit damage.

  2. Hydrate in Fresh Water
Trim 1/2 inch off the stems at a diagonal and place them in clean, cool water. Use sanitized vases or buckets.

  3. Remove Foliage Below Water Line
Any leaves below the water line should be stripped to prevent bacteria growth.

  4. Encourage Blooming
Peonies arrive in tight bud form. Keep them in a warm room with indirect sunlight to help them open. You can cover them loosely with a plastic bag overnight to build humidity.

  5. Change Water Daily
Refresh water and recut stems every 24 hours. Use flower food if available.

  6. Storage Temperature
Store at 36–50°F for delayed blooming, or 65–70°F to accelerate bloom for event use.

  7. Keep Away from Direct Sun or Drafts
Avoid placing near heaters, windows, or vents to preserve freshness.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
