Care & Handling

Care and Handling for Fresh Rose Petals

Fresh rose petals can elevate any wedding, event, or romantic celebration with their delicate beauty. To ensure they look their best, follow these care tips:

 1. Store Properly

Keep rose petals in their original packaging or transfer them to an airtight container lined with a slightly damp paper towel. This helps maintain their natural moisture and prevents them from drying out too quickly.

2. Handle with Care

Rose petals are soft and delicate, making them prone to bruising or tearing. Always handle them gently and try to limit unnecessary touching to preserve their fresh and flawless appearance.

3. Use Close to Event Time

Plan to use your rose petals as close to the time of your event as possible. This reduces their exposure to elements like wind, sunlight, or heat, ensuring that they remain vivid and fresh throughout your celebration.

4. Avoid Harsh Conditions

Store the petals in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme heat. Prolonged exposure to harsh conditions can fade their color and diminish their velvety texture.

By following these simple steps, you can ensure your rose petals look stunning and add an elegant, romantic touch to your special occasion.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
