Designing Tips

Craspedia—also known as Billy Balls—are one of the most versatile flowers for spring and Easter arrangements. Their bright spherical blooms naturally evoke sunshine, joy, and renewal, making them ideal for pastel spring palettes and festive Easter décor.

1. Pair with Soft Pastels for Classic Easter Designs

Craspedia’s vibrant yellow contrasts beautifully with soft Easter tones such as:

  • Blush roses
  • Lavender stock
  • Pale peach ranunculus
  • Light blue delphinium
  • Cream garden roses

This combination creates fresh, airy spring arrangements perfect for Easter brunch tables, church décor, or spring weddings.

2. Use Craspedia for Modern Minimal Arrangements

Because each stem has a perfect round bloom, craspedia works beautifully in minimalist designs.

Design idea:

  • Clear cylinder vase
  • 5–10 craspedia stems
  • A few sprigs of eucalyptus

This creates a modern spring centerpiece that feels fresh and playful.

3. Add Texture to Garden-Style Arrangements

Craspedia adds a textural pop among softer blooms like:

  • Ranunculus
  • Peonies
  • Spray roses
  • Sweet peas

The round shape breaks up traditional floral silhouettes and adds visual rhythm.

4. Perfect Accent for Easter Egg Color Schemes

For Easter events, combine craspedia with flowers inspired by painted egg palettes:

Beautiful pairings include:

  • Yellow craspedia + pink tulips + lavender roses
  • Yellow craspedia + white hydrangea + peach ranunculus
  • Yellow craspedia + pastel carnations + blue thistle

This keeps arrangements bright, cheerful, and seasonal.

5. Use as a Structural Accent Flower

Craspedia works well as a design anchor.

Florists often use it to:

  • guide the eye upward in tall arrangements
  • create movement in bouquets
  • add contrast in lush designs

Just a few stems can elevate the whole arrangement.
