Designing Tips

Designing Tips for French Marigolds

French Marigolds are best used when you want bold color, rich texture, and a festive seasonal look. Their warm tones and full flower heads make them excellent for wedding centerpieces, fall event arrangements, cultural celebrations, restaurant décor, altar flowers, garlands, and large decorative installations.

Pair French Marigolds with Warm Seasonal Flowers

For a bright, traditional fall palette, combine French Marigolds with Yellow Marigolds to create strong orange and golden color. For weddings and elevated event designs, add Orange Roses to soften the design and add a premium floral finish. Complete the arrangement with Orange Bronze Ruscus for warm greenery, depth, and movement.

Use French Marigolds for Color, Texture and Volume

Place French Marigolds in clusters to create strong visual impact in centerpieces, altar flowers, ofrendas, entrance arrangements, and fall installations. Their smaller textured blooms are also useful for filling gaps, adding color between larger focal flowers, and creating detailed designs for weddings, companies, restaurants, schools, churches, and seasonal events.

FAQ

FAQ

How do I care for French Marigolds when they arrive?

Upon arrival, remove the French Marigolds from the box and inspect the bunches. Trim the stems at an angle using clean floral shears, then place the flowers immediately in clean, fresh water. Allow them time to hydrate and recover before designing arrangements.

Should French Marigolds be hydrated before arranging?

Yes. French Marigolds should be hydrated before they are used in floral designs. Their textured flower heads may need time to refresh after shipping, especially if they will be used for centerpieces, garlands, altar flowers, wedding décor, or event installations.

Where should I store French Marigolds before my event?

Store French Marigolds in a cool location away from direct sunlight, heat, drafts, and ripening fruit. Keeping them cool and hydrated helps preserve their vibrant color, textured blooms, and freshness before weddings, corporate events, cultural celebrations, and fall décor.

Do I need to remove foliage from French Marigold stems?

Yes. Remove any foliage that may fall below the water line. This helps keep the water clean and supports better hydration, which is important when preparing French Marigolds for bulk floral arrangements, garlands, backdrops, and event designs.

How often should I change the water for French Marigolds?

Change the water as needed and recut the stems before arranging. Clean water helps keep French Marigolds fresh and ready for use in weddings, events, restaurant displays, cultural celebrations, seasonal décor, and wholesale floral designs.

Are French Marigolds good for weddings and events?

Yes. French Marigolds are excellent for weddings and events because their bright orange, yellow, gold, and warm bi-color tones add strong seasonal color and texture. They are especially useful for centerpieces, garlands, altar flowers, backdrops, fall décor, and high-volume floral arrangements.

What flowers pair well with French Marigolds?

French Marigolds pair beautifully with Yellow Marigolds, Orange Roses, Orange Bronze Ruscus, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, burgundy flowers, eucalyptus, and warm-toned greenery. These combinations work well for weddings, fall events, cultural celebrations, and festive floral designs.

How should French Marigolds be used in arrangements?

Use French Marigolds in clusters for maximum color impact. Their compact, textured blooms are ideal for filling centerpieces, adding detail to garlands, decorating altar flowers, and creating warm seasonal arrangements for weddings, companies, restaurants, schools, churches, and event venues.
