Care

Care and Handling for Luxurious Fresh-Cut Bulk Lavender Roses

Proper care and handling are essential to ensure your fresh-cut lavender roses remain stunning throughout your wedding or event. Follow these steps to maximize their beauty and longevity:

Unpack and Hydrate Immediately

Upon receiving your roses, carefully unpack them and remove any protective wrapping. Trim the stems diagonally by about an inch using sharp, clean scissors or floral shears to promote water uptake. Place the roses in a clean vase or container filled with fresh, lukewarm water mixed with flower food.

Remove Excess Foliage

Strip away any leaves that fall below the waterline to avoid bacterial growth, which can shorten the lifespan of the roses. Keep enough foliage near the top to maintain the beauty of the bloom for arrangements.

Keep Roses in a Cool Environment

Store the roses in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts. Aim for a temperature between 34°F and 75°F to prevent them from wilting or aging prematurely.

Allow Time to Bloom

Lavender roses may arrive in a slightly closed state. To achieve a fuller bloom, place them in water at room temperature and allow them to open naturally over the course of 1-2 days. Plan to receive your flowers 2-3 days before your event for optimal results.

Refresh Water Daily

Change the water every 24 hours, recutting the stems and adding fresh flower food each time. This ensures the roses remain hydrated and vibrant.

By diligently caring for your lavender roses, you will highlight their luxurious hues and elegance, creating unforgettable arrangements that elevate your wedding or event decor.

Arrangement Tips

Arranging Tips with Lavender Roses for Weddings and Events

Choose the Right Companion Flowers

Lavender roses pair beautifully with flowers like white lilies, soft pink peonies, or baby's breath. These combinations complement the roses' elegant hue and create a romantic, timeless look perfect for weddings or formal events.

Consider the Theme and Color Palette

Match the lavender roses with the event's theme by integrating complementary or contrasting colors. For example, pairing them with silver-toned foliage like dusty miller can enhance a sophisticated, modern theme, while adding greenery such as eucalyptus offers a fresh, natural vibe.

Balance Height and Textures

When arranging bouquets or centerpieces, vary the height and textures to create a dynamic, eye-catching design. Use taller elements like lavender roses as focal points, while surrounding them with softer, cascading greenery for depth and balance.

Use Elegant Vases or Holders

For table arrangements, display the lavender roses in clear glass or vintage-inspired metallic vases to accentuate their beauty. Ensure the vase complements the overall style and reinforces the event's aesthetic.

Add Fragrance Layers

Lavender roses naturally have a subtle scent, but you can enhance the sensory experience by incorporating aromatic herbs like rosemary or lavender sprigs. This creates an inviting and cohesive atmosphere for guests.

By following these tips, you can craft stunning arrangements with lavender roses that elevate the beauty of weddings and events, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
