Care & Handling

Care & Handling – Metallic Blue Airbrushed Hydrangea

To maintain the integrity of your Metallic Blue Airbrushed Hydrangea, handle them with care and avoid rubbing or scraping the petals. Upon arrival, cut the stems at a 45-degree angle and place them immediately in clean, lukewarm water. Do not immerse the heads, as excessive water contact may dull the painted finish. Keep away from direct sunlight or strong airflow to prevent drying out or fading. Store in a cool area and allow the blooms 4–6 hours to rehydrate before use in arrangements. Change water every 2 days and trim stems to prolong freshness. If using floral foam, ensure it is fully saturated and stable. These airbrushed hydrangeas are for decorative use and not edible. Ideal for both modern and upscale designs, they retain their beauty for up to 7 days with proper care. For best results, use gloves when arranging and avoid direct misting on the petals to preserve the metallic sheen.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
