Care & Handling

Care & Handling – Orange Hydrangea Gold Black Chameleon
Unbox your Orange Hydrangea Gold Black Chameleon immediately upon arrival and trim the stems at a 45-degree angle under running water. Place them in clean, room-temperature water mixed with floral preservative. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as it can dull their shimmering finish. Gently mist the flower heads to preserve their vibrant texture and tone. Store them in a cool space, ideally at 36–38°F, but not in a floral fridge with fruits or vegetables. Change the water every 24 hours and re-trim stems every other day. Their dark, iridescent finish is fragile, so handle with care when arranging to avoid bruising. These chameleon hydrangeas are as much art as they are flora—treat them accordingly and they’ll transform your floral work into a masterpiece.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
