Designing Tips

Plan for movement: French tulips continue to grow and curve after hydration. This natural bend is part of their charm—embrace it in loose, organic designs.

Best hydration: Recut stems and place in clean water immediately upon arrival. Tulips are thirsty and respond beautifully to fresh water.

Design timing: For weddings, design 1–2 days before the event for best shape and bloom.

Pairing suggestions:

  • Soft & romantic: Garden roses, ranunculus, peonies
  • Modern & minimal: Anemones, scabiosa, lisianthus
  • Greenery: Eucalyptus, olive, ruscus, or spring foliage

Support stems: Use shallow water levels in vases to prevent over-bending if a straighter look is desired.

FAQ

Q. Do French tulips look different from regular tulips?

A. Yes. French tulips have longer stems and more elongated blooms, giving them a more elegant, upscale appearance compared to standard tulips.

Q. Will the tulips open more after delivery?

A. Yes. French tulips continue to open and gently curve as they hydrate. This is normal and highly desired for natural, garden-style designs.

Q. Are these suitable for weddings?

A. Absolutely. Dark Pink French Tulips are extremely popular for bridal bouquets, bridesmaid flowers, centerpieces, and ceremony arrangements.

Q. How long do French tulips last?

A. With proper care, they typically last 5–7 days. Keeping them cool and hydrated helps extend vase life.

Q. Do tulips need floral food?

A. Tulips do best in clean water. Floral food is optional but not required.

Q. Can I use them alone in arrangements?

A. Yes. They look stunning on their own for modern or minimalist designs, especially in tall vases or loose hand-tied bouquets.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
