Care & Handling for Fall Rose Bouquets in Bulk

1.Unpack Carefully

  • Open your boxes immediately upon arrival.
  • Remove the roses gently and keep the stems wrapped in their protective sleeves while you hydrate them.

2. Hydrate Immediately

  • Cut 1–2 inches off each stem at a 45° angle under running water.
  • Place roses in clean buckets filled with lukewarm water mixed with floral preservative.
  • Keep leaves above the water line to prevent bacteria growth.

3. Conditioning

  • Allow roses to hydrate for at least 4–6 hours before arranging.
  • Store in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat.
  • Avoid storing near fruits (they release ethylene gas, which shortens vase life).

4. Temperature

  • Store roses at 36–38°F (2–3°C) if refrigeration is available.
  • If not, keep in a cool, dark space.
  • Never freeze the flowers.

5. Designing

  • Once hydrated, remove the sleeves and gently spread the petals.
  • For fall weddings & events, mix orange, peach, and red roses with seasonal greens like eucalyptus or hypericum berries for a rich autumn look.

6. Event Day Tips

  • Recut stems and place in fresh water the night before the event.
  • Mist petals lightly to keep them fresh.
  • Transport bouquets upright in clean containers with water or damp floral foam.

7. Longevity Tips

  • Change water every 24–48 hours.
  • Remove any wilted petals or leaves promptly.
  • Keep arrangements in a cool place until ready to display.

Designing Tips

Color Pairing & Balance

  • Contrast with Neutrals: Use cream roses to soften bold reds and terracotta, creating depth without overwhelming the design.
  • Warm Harmony: Peach and orange tones naturally complement each other. Layer them side by side for a smooth gradient.
  • Seasonal Accents: Add eucalyptus, pampas grass, or burgundy foliage to bring out autumn warmth.

Arrangement Tips

  • Centerpieces: Cluster roses in odd numbers (3, 5, 7 stems) for a natural look. Accent with terracotta at the base and cream at the top for visual lift.
  • Bouquets: Start with cream or peach as your foundation, layer orange and red roses in the middle, and finish with terracotta blooms for richness.
  • Arches & Installations: Use terracotta and deep red roses at focal points, blending outward with peach and cream to create a gradient effect.

Style & Theme Inspiration

  • Rustic Weddings: Pair with burlap, wood accents, and bronze vases.
  • Elegant Celebrations: Use crystal vases or white ceramic urns to highlight cream and peach tones.
  • Modern Events: Group single-color roses (all terracotta or all cream) in sleek monochromatic bunches, then combine into layered installations.

Pro Florist Tip

  • Blend red + peach for romance, orange + terracotta for bold fall vibes, and cream + all tones for timeless elegance.
  • Always stagger stem heights slightly to mimic a natural garden-picked look.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
