Arranging Tips

Arranging Tips for DIY Brides

  • Start with greenery to create the shape, then insert Cream Moonrise as your focal flower.
  • Use odd numbers (3s or 5s) to keep the design natural and balanced.
  • Mix with softer blooms (like roses or lisianthus) and airy fillers for texture.
  • Add Moonrise peonies at varied heights to create depth and showcase their yellow centers.
  • Rotate your arrangement as you build and step back regularly to check symmetry.
  • Use floral tape grids or chicken wire in vases to maintain structure.

Care & Handling

Care and Handling – 3–4 Day Opening

  • Unpack immediately and remove any wrapping or sleeves.
  • Re-cut stems at a 45° angle under water using sharp floral shears.
  • Place in clean buckets with fresh, cool water and floral preservative.
  • Remove any foliage below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Store in a cool room (55–65°F) away from heat or direct sunlight.
  • To encourage opening, move them to room temperature (70°F) for a few hours daily.
  • Gently massage the buds or place near indirect light to accelerate blooming.
  • Change water daily and keep stems hydrated for optimal freshness and bloom.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
