Designing Tips

Designing Tips for Blue Cushion Poms – from Whole Blossoms

Blue cushion poms (a variety of Chrysanthemums) are small, rounded flowers with densely packed petals. Their bold color and sturdy structure make them excellent for adding volume, texture, and a pop of color to floral designs.

Color Accent: The vibrant blue hue is ideal for cool-toned palettes. Pair with white roses, hydrangeas, or baby’s breath for contrast, or with lavender and silver foliage for a modern, monochromatic look.

Reliable Filler or Focal: Cushion poms work beautifully as a secondary bloom or even a mini focal point in boutonnieres, corsages, and posy bouquets.

High Impact in Volume: Use in clusters to create texture and depth in centerpieces, arches, or floral runners. Their spherical form creates visual balance.

Great for Themed Events: Excellent for winter, nautical, or blue-themed weddings, baby showers, and graduation arrangements.

Versatile Uses: Perfect for table arrangements, wreaths, floral foam designs, sympathy sprays, and DIY mason jar centerpieces.

Blue Tinted Cushion Chrysanthemum Pom Poms are bold wholesale flowers ideal for corporate events, modern weddings, and statement installations. Their full cushion shape makes them excellent bulk flowers for high-impact designs.

• Create monochrome blue centerpieces for modern events.

• Combine with white roses for crisp contrast.

• Use in corporate branding decor.

• Ideal for large ballroom wedding installations.

• Add to ceremony arches for dramatic color blocks.

Because cushion poms provide strong volume, they are cost-effective for planners ordering bulk wedding flowers.

Care & Handling & FAQ

Care & Handling for Blue Cushion Poms – from Whole Blossoms

To maintain freshness and maximize vase life, follow these detailed care steps:

Upon Arrival:

  • Unpack Immediately: Remove flowers from the box. Gently loosen bunches and allow blooms to breathe.
  • Re-cut Stems: Trim 1–2 inches from the bottom of each stem at a 45° angle under clean running water.

Hydration:

  • Hydrate in Fresh Water: Place stems in a clean container filled with cool water and add floral preservative. Cushion poms are thirsty flowers and benefit from immediate hydration.
  • Condition Before Use: Let them hydrate for at least 4–6 hours in a cool area before arranging.

Storage:

  • Cool Storage Recommended: Store between 36–46°F in a well-ventilated floral cooler or refrigerator. Avoid freezing temperatures.
  • Refresh Water Every 2–3 Days: Replace with clean water and re-cut stems to prevent bacterial buildup and ensure longevity.
  • Avoid Humidity: Cushion poms prefer a dry, cool environment. Keep away from heat, direct sunlight, or high-moisture storage.
  • Protect Petals: Handle with care—while the flowers are sturdy, the petals can bruise with rough handling.
  • Avoid Ethylene Gas: Keep them away from ripening fruit and cigarette smoke to prevent premature wilting.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.

  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
