Romantic, soft, and timeless, Blush Peonies are among the most desired flowers for weddings and elegant events. Their lush, full blooms unfold in layers of delicate blush-pink petals, creating a dreamy, cloud-like texture that symbolizes love, prosperity, and beauty. Arranging Tips

Here are professional arranging tips for blush peonies for weddings and events:

  • Pair with soft tones: Combine blush peonies with ivory roses, pale ranunculus, lisianthus, and dusty miller for romantic, airy arrangements.
  • Balance texture: Add filler like Queen Anne’s lace, astilbe, or seeded eucalyptus to create depth and softness.
  • Design shape: Use blush peonies as focal blooms in round, garden-style bouquets or cascading centerpieces.
  • Color harmony: Avoid bold contrasts—stick with muted tones like champagne, peach, or soft lavender for a cohesive palette.
  • Hydration boost: Arrange them last so they stay cool and hydrated until event time, as open peonies can wilt quickly in heat.

Care & Handling

Care & Handling for Blush Peonies (Arriving 3–4 Days Before Event):

  1. Unpack Immediately: Remove sleeves and any protective wrapping as soon as they arrive to allow airflow.
  2. Trim Stems: Cut 1–2 inches off the stems at a 45° angle under clean, lukewarm water.
  3. Hydrate in Clean Water: Place in sanitized buckets filled with lukewarm water and floral preservative. Ensure no foliage is submerged.
  4. Room Temperature Rehydration: Store in a cool, well-lit room (65–72°F). Avoid refrigeration—warmth encourages blooming.
  5. Open Gently: If blooms are tight, place them in warmer areas with natural light or use a fan for airflow to speed opening.
  6. Change Water Daily: Re-cut stems every 24 hours and refresh water to prevent bacteria buildup.
  7. Use When Half-Open: For best presentation, use peonies once they are halfway open—full bloom can happen fast.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
