Care & Handling

Care & Handling – White Baby's Breath

Upon arrival, remove the White Baby’s Breath from the box immediately and trim stems at an angle under room-temperature water. Remove any foliage below the waterline and place stems in a clean container filled with fresh water. Baby’s Breath is especially sensitive to dehydration, so be sure to mist the blooms regularly and keep them away from direct sunlight, drafts, and high humidity. While it looks delicate, Baby’s Breath is long-lasting and easy to care for. For extra fullness, gently separate the stems with your fingers before arranging. Store in a cool location and change the water every 2 days to ensure longevity. If drying is desired, hang stems upside down in a dark, dry area for 7–10 days.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
