Care & Handling

Care & Handling Instructions for Aster Solidago (Goldenrod)

To ensure optimal freshness and longevity of your Aster Solidago, follow these simple care guidelines upon arrival:

  1. Unpack Immediately: Carefully remove your flower bunches from the box as soon as they arrive. Handle stems gently to avoid breakage.
  2. Trim the Stems: Cut ½ inch off each stem at a 45-degree angle using clean, sharp floral shears. This helps improve water uptake.
  3. Hydrate in Clean Water: Place stems in a clean bucket filled with fresh, cool water. Add floral preservative if available. Avoid submerging the foliage.
  4. Rehydrate for 4–12 Hours: Let the flowers drink in a shaded, cool area before designing. This rehydration process is crucial for restoring their firmness and color.
  5. Ideal Storage Temperature: Keep your bulk Aster Solidago in a floral cooler or well-ventilated area between 36°F–50°F. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts.
  6. Daily Mist & Water Change: Refresh water daily and mist lightly to keep blooms vibrant and hydrated throughout your event prep and setup.

Proper care ensures your wholesale Aster Solidago flowers stay fresh and beautiful for up to 7–10 days, making them ideal for weddings, event décor, and floral installations.

Tips for ordering
  • We recommend that most flowers be scheduled to be delivered 2-3 days prior to an event. All flowers are harvested just prior to delivery.
  • Delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley, Gardenias, and Stephanotis are best when delivered 1-2 days before the event.
  • Iris have a short vase life so the delivery should be scheduled 2 days prior to your event.
  • Lotus have a short vase life so they need to be ordered 1-2 days prior to events.
  • Peonies and Ranunculus may take longer to open during cold months. Schedule delivery of these flowers 3-4 days prior to your event.
  • Alstroemeria, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, Stars of Bethlehem, Sunflowers, and Lilies may require at least 3 days for blooming. Consider scheduling delivery of these flowers 3-4 days before your event.
  • Blooming branches for Jan and Feb deliveries should be scheduled for delivery at least 7 - 10 days before your event to permit adequate blooming. Expect blooming in 10 days with cold weather. For March and later, a 4-5 day lead time before your wedding or event is suggested for proper blooming.
  • Pumpkin branches schedule delivery 2 to 3 days prior to your event.
  • For Manzanita branches, if you would like the farm to remove the leaves, this needs to be requested in advance.
If you are unsure what day to select, pick the best available date you can, we suggest 3 days prior to the event. OR you can contact our flower care experts by chat or email to help you decide which date is best for you.
