The most popular orchid leis are made with dendrobiums and convey many special meanings such as love, romance, thanks, respect, honor and other expressions.
Your Lei just arrived! Now they need to be hydrated and processed. All bulk flowers look dry upon arrival and will need to be hydrated. It is important to give your fresh flowers a couple of hours to hydrate and replenish. Depending on the variety purchased, some bulk flowers may need 24 to 36 hours to hydrate and perk up.
CARE AND HANDLING FOR LEI
- Upon delivery, carefully remove your lei and gently pat down any excess moisture with a paper towel. Pack each lei in a plastic bag and store in your cooler, refrigerator or cold ice chest. Take caution not to freeze your leis.
- If you are not planning to use your leis within 48 hours following flower delivery, please be sure to store them in a shaded, cool, relatively humid area (not cooler than 45F). Avoid placing your lei near hot surfaces or environments. Your lei must be in a cool area at all times until they are ready to be used.
- When storing your lei, do not move them from hot to cold or cold to hot temperatures to avoid that they get hypothermia. Drastic changes in temperature burns flowers. If you choose to store your lei in the refrigerator (not cooler than 45F), be sure to clean your fridge and remove all fruits and veggies before storing your fresh flowers since many fruit and vegetable gases can damage your lei.
