Your fresh cut Bells of Ireland flowers (Mollucella) will need to be hydrated upon arrival.

Bulk Bells of Ireland are shipped dry and must be trimmed and hydrated immediately upon receipt. Lack of water or failure to trim flowers properly can wilt and/or kill flowers.

Unpack your Mollucella as soon as you receive them and cut about one-half to one inch off the stem at an angle (with a sharp knife NOT scissors). Quickly place each stem into a bucket filled with filtered (de-chlorinated) water. Add floral preservative to the water if available. In the absence of flower food, pour a spoon of sugar into the water (to help open the flowers) and one drop of bleach (to keep bacteria away). Do not add more than one drop of bleach. Replace water and floral preservative every 2-3 days to help extend the vase life of your fresh cut flowers.

Remove wilted foliage that could later fall into the water to avoid bacteria build-up. If your Bells of Ireland are not going to be displayed immediately, try to store them in a cool place with ample humidity.

When storing your Bells of Ireland, ensure they are not moved from cold to hot or from hot to cold temperatures since drastic temperature changes will burn flowers.

Bells of Ireland are ethylene sensitive so they need to be kept away from fruit and vegetables.

When placing your Bells of Ireland (Mollucella) order, choose a delivery date 2-3 days prior to your wedding or event for proper hydration. If your Wedding or Event is on a Saturday, we recommend therefore scheduling receipt of your Bells of Ireland for a Wednesday or Thursday delivery.
