Your Cornflower just arrived! Now they need to be hydrated and processed. It is important to give your bulk flowers a couple of hours to hydrate and replenish. Depending on the variety purchased, some fresh cut wholesale flowers may need 24 to 36 hours to hydrate and perk up.

CARE AND HANDLING FOR CORNFLOWER

  • Place your Cornflower in clean, fresh, filtered water. Carefully remove leaves, thorns or foliage that fall under the water level (without tearing the stem skin) to avoid the build-up of bacteria. Cut one inch off the end of the flower stem in a 45-degree angle (with a sharp knife NOT scissors) to allow water to be better absorbed through the stems. After cutting the stem at an angle, quickly place the fresh cut flowers in water since it only takes a minute for the stem to dry and seal up.
  • Keep your Cornflower in a shaded, cool, relatively humid area. Fresh cut flowers may be stored indoors with A/C or in a floral cooler above 40F. Avoid placing your wedding flowers near heat surfaces or environments. Your wedding flowers must be in water at all times until they are ready to be used.
  • Do not keep your flowers in the refrigerator overnight since many fruit and vegetable gases can damage your fresh cut flowers.
  • When storing your wedding flowers, make sure that they are not moved from cold to hot or from hot to cold temperatures since drastic temperature changes will burn your fresh cut wholesale flowers.

  • WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE THE DELIVERY OF MY CORNFLOWER? Your Cornflower should be scheduled for delivery two or three days before your event.
  • HOW LONG IN ADVANCE SHOULD I ORDER MY CORNFLOWER? We recommend that you order your Cornflower at least two weeks before your wedding or event to ensure product and colors availability.
  • Please check your email for your carrier's tracking number. To ensure freshness, please make yourself available to sign for your Cornflower upon delivery as fresh flowers are perishable and require immediate proper care and handling.
  • Fresh flowers dropped off outside may be exposed to excessive heat or cold which can wilt flowers. Therefore, Whole Blossoms strongly recommends having someone available to assume receipt of your cornflower at the time of delivery. Tracking numbers will be emailed to you 1-3 days prior to delivery of your flowers.
  • Your Cornflower will be delivered farm direct to you. Due to flower perishability, your wedding flowers cannot be left outside for extended periods of time after being delivered.
  • Cornflowers are shipped from our farms and carefully transported to ensure freshness. Upon arrival, carefully unpack your wedding flowers and follow the care and handling. Whole Blossoms stands behind freshness and offers freshness assurance upon flower delivery.
  • While carriers are reliable at meeting delivery dates and times, in a limited number of cases, your shipment might arrive 1-2 days before or after your scheduled delivery date due to factors resulting from weather, customs processing times, flight delays, and other uncontrollable and unforeseeable factors.
