Your Aethiopica Calla Lily just arrived! Now they need to be hydrated and processed so your stunning bouquets and centerpieces can be designed. All wedding flowers look dry upon arrival and will need to be hydrated. It is important to give your wholesale flowers a couple of hours to hydrate and replenish. Depending on the variety purchased, some flowers may need 24 to 36 hours to hydrate and perk up.

AETHIPICA CALLA LILY FLOWERS CARE AND HANDLING

  • Unpack Calla Lily flowers as soon as you receive them and cut about one inch of the stem at an angle under water (with a sharp knife NOT scissors). Remove foliage that could fall under water to avoid bacteria to build-in and place the flowers in clean, fresh, warm, filtered water (100F-105F). Keep your flowers in water at all times.
  • Have buckets, floral shears, and floral food or sugar ready to hydrate and process your calla lilies.
  • Note that Calla Lily flowers are shipped dry and may look a little limp upon arrival. This is completely normal. Calla Lily flowers will perkup after being hydrated. Leaving part of the white color stem at the end of the stems, helps with water uptake and vase life while reducing the chances of stem splitting or curling.
  • When Calla Lily flowers are left in bacteria contaminated water, the bottom of the stem will become mushy. Be sure to change the water frequently, preferably every day.
  • Calla Lily Aethiopica flowers have a long vase life. They are low maintenance wholesale flowers. However, Calla Lily stems need to be cut every few days to enable water to penetrate the blossoms.
  • When storing your wholesale flowers, make sure that they are not moved from cold to hot or from hot to cold temperatures since drastic temperature changes will burn flowers.
  • If Calla Lily flowers are not going to be displayed immediately, try to keep them in a fresh place preferably (38F-56F) and at least 80% humidity in fresh water with floral preservative. Replace water and floral food frequently to ensure freshness. For bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, keep a vase with water nearby at all times before and during the wedding reception so your flowers can be rehydrated for maximum radiance!

  • HOW MANY DAYS BEFORE MY EVENT SHOULD I SCHEDULE THE DELIVERY OF MY CALLA LILY FLOWERS? For delivery planning purposes, we recommend scheduling delivery of your Calla Lily flowers 2-3 days prior to your event during the spring, summer, and fall and 3-4 days prior to your event during winter.
  • HOW LONG IN ADVANCE SHOULD I ORDER MY CALLA LILY FLOWERS? We recommend ordering your Calla Lily flowers at least two weeks before your wedding or event to ensure product and colors availability. For weddings, it is highly recommended to place orders at least one month prior to the wedding date. However, if you have a last minute order, we can place a rush order for you!
  • Your green flowers will be delivered via FedEx and will require a signature request upon delivery. Tracking numbers will be emailed to you 1-3 days prior to delivery of your flowers.
  • All green flowers shipped from South America or Europe are refrigerated through cold chain management and carefully transported to ensure freshness. Upon arrival, carefully unpack your flowers and follow the care and handling instructions.
  • Please ensure someone is available to sign for your flowers on the day and time your order is scheduled to arrive as FedEx may not leave flowers by your front door. Additionally, while FedEx is reliable at meeting delivery dates and times, in a limited number of cases, your shipment might arrive one day before or after your scheduled delivery date due to factors resulting from weather, customs processing times, FedEx flight delays, and other uncontrollable and unforeseeable factors.
  • For latest status on your order, please go to the Track Your Order section located at the top of the menu or contact FedEx directly at 1.800.GO.FEDEX (1.800.463.3339).
